The Care and Counseling Ministry at The Way Community Church believes in the transformative power of God's comfort and compassion. Our ministry is rooted in II Corinthians 1:3-4 and our goal is to embody the love and care of our Heavenly Father by providing a safe and supportive environment for individuals facing various life challenges and struggles.
At the heart of our ministry is the understanding that God comforts us in all our troubles so that we may, in turn, extend that same comfort to others. Whether you are experiencing emotional distress, relational difficulties, grief, mental health concerns, or simply navigating the complexities of life, our dedicated team is here to walk alongside you on your journey toward healing and restoration.
The primary purpose of this ministry is to lead people to establish a personal relationship with Christ and to help those believers who join our fellowship at The Way Community Church to engage in an effective way that leads to spiritual growth. Decision Counselors share the gospel with those who do not know Christ and invite them to receive Him as Lord and Savior. For those who already have a relationship with Christ, Decision Counselors will explain what it means to be a member of The Way. All believers are encouraged to be Baptized according to scripture. New members attend our Starting Point class to understand what it means to be a follower of Christ. Our prayer is that members will feel cared for and will be encouraged to find their place in ministry and service at The Way.
The purpose of this ministry is to provide training and support for spiritual growth through Life Groups and Wayfinder training. Life Groups meet each week in small group relational environments to study the word and to encourage and support each other through the journey of life. Wayfinder training involves learning how to show people the way to life with Jesus. The training consists of a series of classes and relational opportunities to help believers understand discipleship. They are equipped to not only become disciples but also to make disciples. Upon completion of this training, Wayfinders are equipped to lead Life Groups and to facilitate classes at The Way.
To volunteer for this ministry, you must become a certified Wayfinder. Training will begin again this fall for those interested.
The Gatekeepers’ responsibilities for The Way Community Church are to provide a warm and friendly greeting with opening doors for members and visitors and provide comfortable seating for all that enter the sanctuary.
Volunteers are being accepted. Please email Sheldon Ezekiel.
